Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is there a Leopard version available ?
We currently build a Leopard compatible version. When finished, all customers will be informed. ˆback
2) How can I purchase a Program ?
We use well known PayPal purchasing system. It's available in most countries and languages and is secure for both buyer and seller. ˆback
3) Can you confirm whether these applications will be made available for the new Macs with the Intel chips, and if so will it be coded for running under Rosetta or will it run natively on the Intel chips. If so, what sort of time frame have you in mind for implementing this?
After purchasing our software, you'll have download access for all further product releases as long they are developed. This will include Intel version support. Our intention is to provide you with excellent software. As long as Apple provides developers with the right information and developer tools, we'll continue to develop our software and follow Steve Jobs great effort to make tools that will make working with computers easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
Got great news from Scott Simon. It is working on new mac's with INTEL chipsets (Mail.app version 2.0.6).

4) I have requested a code. Where is it ?
It depends on your mail provider. Free email accounts are often busy and the delivery could be delayed. Also watch you SPAM software. Some programs will move these kind of messages to a "Junk" folder. ˆback
5) "Download link is NOT valid." Why am I getting this?
You've already downloaded it. Please register again with the same email address and you'll receive a new download code. ˆback
6) While iVideoMail icon shows up in the Mail Preference panel it does NOT appear in the toolbar item panel (as the screenshot shows) when I chose the option to "customize the toolbar." What is wrong?
Open a message window by either clicking on "new" or "reply." Then click the option to customize the toolbar. Now you will see it among the icon choices. ˆback
7) Will the video play correctly downstream for a Windows user ?
If you select mpg4 codec it will. But other codecs are specific to the Macintosh platform. Try VideoLan's VLC. That may work as well. ˆback
8) Does iVideoMail work with other mail apps ?
iVideoMail works with Mail.app as a bundle. It won't work with other email applications. ˆback
9) I made a video, and I got a message that Quicktime doesn't recognize the file and cannot open it.
iVideoMail only uses Quicktime to record. Make sure you have Quicktime installed. Then you should be able to see the message after you have inserted it into your email. If the recipient cannot handle .mov files, he or she needs to install the Quicktime player from Apple. ˆback
10) I am using a USB Philips Cam, with the IOXperts video driver. iChat recognizes the camera as well as iVideoMail, but the image appears to be frozen when I record my message.
Don't worry, while recording, only some frames will be displayed. Once you are done recording, watch the video in your email, and you will see that it has full frame support. Notice that you can't have other applications running that use the cam like iChat. You can only open one application that uses the cam at a time. ˆback
11) I downloaded the demo version but it is not recording anything. Nor is it sending email. I want to purchase, it but I'm afraid it'll be like demo. Would you please explain me how it works.
First you need a camera. iSight is cool. Plug in the camera and you'll be able to see the preview pane of iVideoMail. Just press the record button and the recording will begin. Press again and the recording stops. It will then be automatically inserted into the message. ˆback
12) Can someone who doesn't have the necessary codec download it ?
If you don't have mpg4 you can get it from www.3ivx.com H.264 is an Apple codec and is only supported by Quicktime. ˆback
13) Is there some sort of more universal codec that you can use ?
iVideoMail is using the most popular build in codecs on the Mac (H.264,MPG4,SORENSON3). There are maybe better ones but don't forget, it will be delivered by email, so it's best to keep the files as small as possible. Play around with the settings and let me know which config works best. ˆback
